Founded in 1967, Tai Hang Tung Nursery School is one of the non-profit nursery schools under the Hong Kong Christian Service. It is located on the 4th floor and rooftop of the Tai Hang Tung Community Centre, with a gross floor area of 1187 square meters, including five activity rooms, a small garden, an outdoor swimming pool and two outdoor playgrounds, each equipped with computers, projectors and screens to boost children’s learning experiences.

The school is committed for best quality education in providing a safe, healthy, enriching and interactive learning environment where children can learn in a harmonious and fun atmosphere, and where parents can become partners in the education of their children. This manner of education helps them to develop in an all-round, holistic manner through intellectual, linguistic, physical, social, emotional, aesthetic and creative learning. Our school promotes language and arts education, allowing children to develop and explore language and arts through picture books and plays, and to extend education to their homes to further consolidate their learning.

Our school is continuously promoting “home-school collaboration” and regards parents as partners. We have a wide range of communication channels and activities to maintain close cooperation and contact with parents to educate our children with love. Hard work and perseverance is our motto. We were awarded the “Caring School Award Scheme” (Kindergarten Category) under the Caring School Award Scheme 2018, which recognized our efforts in promoting a caring education and the healthy development of our children as future talents of society. In June 2016, our school passed the Education Bureau’s Quality Review and won high level recognition and praise from the Education Bureau.

Our school received the “Chief Executive’s Award for Teaching Excellence 2011/2012” for the “Arts Education.” The judging panel appreciated our teachers’ continuous pursuit of excellence and their spirit of collaboration and refinement. Through the implementation of a comprehensive curriculum in early childhood arts education, we have successfully established an outstanding learning community.

In addition, the school participated in the “Outstanding Teacher Election” organized by the Hong Kong Federation of Education Workers. Our teachers, recognized for their exceptional teaching performance, were awarded the 2023 Outstanding Teacher Award. The award was presented by the Permanent Secretary for Education, acknowledging the teachers’ remarkable contributions and achievements.

Our school passed the Education Bureau’s focus inspection in December 2023 and received high recognition and praise from the Bureau. Furthermore, we also participated in the “Quality Certification and Professional Peer Program” organized by the Pacific Early Childhood Education Research Association (Hong Kong). After professional evaluations conducted at the school on April 16 and April 18, 2024, the inspectors concluded that our school’s environment and teacher skills met the program’s criteria and standards, receiving high praise and affirmation. We were certified as a “Quality School – Gold Award” by Dr. Li Lai-wan, the Chairperson of the Association, and Ms. Yang Fung-wai, the Program Director.
